Our Staff

Shepherd of the Ridge Lutheran Preschool is very proud of our staff.  All staff members are trained and certified in first aid and CPR for children.  Our staff is always continuing with their education to make
our Preschool the BEST of the BEST.

Nancy Berkheimer

Miss Nancy teaches our 3- and 4-Year-Old classes.  She has 19 years of teaching experience, and has been with Shepherd of the Ridge Lutheran Preschool for almost nine years. She recieved her degree in Early Childhood Education from Lorain County Community College and is constantly taking additional classes to perfect her teaching abilities. In addition to her Preschool classes, Miss Nancy also teaches PSR and Confirmation classes at St. Peter's. 

 

Miss Nancy has two children.  Her son is a graduate of North Ridgeville High School and her daughter is currently attends JVS. 

Carlie Jones

Miss Carlie is the new Administrator at Shepherd of the Ridge Preschool. She holds a Bachelor's Degree from Baldwin-Wallace College and is a newly confirmed member of Shepherd of the Ridge Church. Miss Carlie loves children and has four of her own (the youngest, Theodore, attended Shepherd of the Ridge Pre-K in 2019). She wants all children to have the opportunity to grow in knowledge and in faith through quality Christian education. 

Darla Durisek Baumbick

Mrs. D. is our Pre-Kindergarten teacher, and has attended Shepherd of the Ridge Lutheran Church since 1966.  Through those years, she became a confirmed member and taught in Sunday School and VBS programs.  Her three children also attended Shepherd of the Ridge Preschool and are all graduates of North Ridgeville High School.  She is a retired teacher who served 35 years in public schools.  She has chosen to serve SOTR preschool to continue to provide a positive educational environment that will foster enthusiasm for learning and promote readiness skills for our young 21st century learners.

  

Darla holds a bachelor's degree from Baldwin Wallace College in Elementary Education and is certified in Education of the Handicapped.  She received a Master's Degree in educational administration from Ashland University and holds an Elementary Principal's license.  Mrs. D. has completed course work through Concordia University of Chicago in Building Collaborative Relations, and Assessment/Evaluation/Data-driven decisions.  She is elated to be at Shepherd of the Ridge Preschool while enjoying her number one passion, TEACHING!
